It is the biggest and most multicultural city in Australia so it is brimming with nightlife and some fun things to do with groups! Many natives believe that Sydney is at its best after the sun sets as some of the best attractions are open then. Whether you're a tourist, newbie or just looking for something unique to do in Sydney, this curated list of things to do at night will help you make the most of the city’s vibrant nightlife.

Sydney has two art galleries you can visit after dark, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Art Gallery of NSW. The former hosts various late night events where it stays open till late night, making it ideal for a weekday date after work. The exhibitions here change often so it is better if you check their websites before visiting  but often includes workshops, wines, talks, live music and food. All are welcome but usually it is more of an adult event. The Art Gallery of New South Wales also offers evening events known as Art After Hours, check their schedule online!

   

  Luna Park

   

  Sydney after dark is a truly breathtaking sight and one of the most iconic things to do at night is visiting Luna Park. Luna Park on Milsons Point is a famous amusement park which overlooks Sydney Harbour and has been one of the star tourist attractions since its inception in 1935. The kids will love the wide range of rides, games and other activities, even the grinning moonface at the entrance  and although you can easily visit here during daytime, the lights of the park will fill the night sky and is a sight to behold! Take the family for a fun ride on the famous Ferris Wheel as it offers equal enjoyment of rkids and ducks with mesmerising views of the harbour and its precincts. The best part about the park is that you can spend any amount of time as you like as the entry is free! You just have to pay for the rides and games.
