Considering a Sydney Harbour cruise on your Sydney visit? This is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city and for good reason. I have accompanied many tourists through this experience multiple times before and never have enjoyed a harbour cruise as it always fascinates me. So, if you’re someone who’s planning to go on a lunch or dinner cruise in Sydney then read along to get a perspective of a seasoned cruising experience.

    Lunch and sightseeing cruise experience

If you are in Sydney for the first time, it is mandatory to visit the beautiful and timeless icons on the harbour–the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Sydney Harbour is one of those places that will grab your attention every time you visit again and a lunch cruise backdropped by the spectacular Sydney skyline is surely something not to miss. One of my personal favourites is the glass boat cruise that offers splendid 360° views of the harbour and its attractions. Compared to other sightseeing or dining options in the area, a lunch cruise offers the perfect window to experiencing the harbour at its best as it combines sightseeing and dining. Freshly prepared dishes are served aboard with splendid up-close views of the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and other famous landmarks along the cruise route.

Dinner cruise experience on the harbour

A dining cruise on Sydney Harbour hits differently, especially if it’s at night. The beautiful evening hues in the sky along the spectacular evening lights on the buildings set the stage for a memorable dinner cruise in Sydney oh-so-perfectly! During the cruise, you can enjoy the scintillating views and more. And of course, there’s the food that is freshly prepared to perfection by onboard chefs. Who wouldn't love a swirl of spritz or wine with their food! Most harbour dining cruises have licensed bars on board offering a wide variety of wines, beers, spirits and juices. You can either go for a beverage upgrade that promises unlimited drinks for the duration of the cruise or simply purchase your favourite drinks directly from the bar. A dinner cruise on a glass boat enhances the entire experience with 360° views of the night lights and star-studded sky. A dinner cruise is perfect for a romantic date night, a family meet up, a hangout with friends or colleagues etc.

    Why choose a harbour cruise?

Sydney Harbour is known for its countless waterfront restaurants, cafes and delis. These places are known for their stunning ambience and even more stunning views. The biggest difference that distinguishes a harbour cruise from any other waterfront dining destination is the views which keep changing every minute of the trip.  You can walk the entire perimeter of the vessel—from the main deck to the viewing decks on board—to enjoy a perfect day or night in Sydney. On board every cruise, there are seats reserved for every guest and this essentially overrides any chances of overcrowding. For a relaxing outing in the city, a harbour cruise will surely be my best pick for you.

When is it apt to cruise on Sydney Harbour

Sydney is blessed with a beautiful climate all year round, cementing the city’s sheer love for having fun. A Sydney Harbour cruise is a perfect option to spend a day off with your loved ones. Or if there’s an upcoming special occasion in your circle, you could invite your loved ones aboard one of these cruises to celebrate the day. For instance, if it’s your friend’s birthday, you can get aboard a harbour lunch or dinner cruise to throw a memorable surprise. It is also a reasonably priced option that offers everything you need to make a perfect celebration experience.
