After a heartbreaking two-year hiatus, Vivid Sydney, the biggest winter festival, returns to light up the harbour city of Australia for 23 days! The cultural festival of light, music and ideas had a rough couple of years due to the pandemic, but now that the restrictions are finally lifted, it’s once again time for Sydney to party! The return of the festival is expected to be bigger than ever with programs on a scale never before attempted and artists from different corners of the world planning to shed light on hot topics. So buckle your seatbelts for a thrilling 23 days! Take a look at these noteworthy attractions!

    Vivid Sydney Cruise

Sydney’s Harbour steals the limelight for most vivid festivals with attractions like the Lighting of the Sails of the Opera House, the illumination of the Harbour Bridge and more. Millions flock to watch these iconic spectacles, making the harbour one of the go-to destinations for Vivid. Wanna escape the crowds and still catch all the harbour spectacles? Hop on a Vivid Harbour Cruise and get access to front-row seats to witness some of the biggest attractions of the festival from the comfort of your vessel, along with a delectable food menu! You can choose from popular vessels like the premium glass boat with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the authentic paddlewheeler with wrap-around verandahs and a multi-million dollar catamaran with spacious outer decks, all incredibly designed to cater all your needs! Pair this unique experience with sparklings and other beverages which can be purchased from the fully licensed bar and you get yourself one heck of a time!

Vivid Music at Central Station and Tumbalong Nights

The arrival of Vivid not only promises a treat to the visual senses but also for our auditory senses. Some of the top Aussie musicians as well as some of the upcoming local superstars take the stage at Tumbalong Park at night to present thrilling performances. The best part? They are absolutely free! Right in the heart of the Light Walk, popular artists such as Haiku Hands, Mildlife, and others will splash the stage with rhythm from every Wednesday to Saturday. Somewhere else, the longest Light Walk in the festival history leads up to Central Station, where a wide range of artists gather every Saturday to bless the ears of Sydneysiders. Dance to the RnB and Soul tunes of The Vivid Sydney Brass band, groove to the bluegrass sounds of The Morrisons, and listen to the gypsy tunes of Lolo Lovina.

    Vivid Kids

Vivid Sydney tells the story of the city’s creativity through art forms, music programs, and brilliant discussions. The festival has a broad audience, meaning it’s not just for adults. The little ones will also get their chance to dance, every Saturday from 5-6pm, at Tumbalong Park. As part of their special Vivid Kids program, the park will light up with a stage for free, sing along to the tunes of The Vegetable Plot, and dance to the beats of the ARIA award-winning Teeny Tiny Stevies.
