After a two-year hiatus, Vivid Sydney is set to bring back life to the city with its massive-scale light projections, music shows and uplifting talks. The festival needs no introduction as it is one of the biggest, if not the biggest festival of lights in the Southern Hemisphere, inviting revellers from different parts of Australia and the globe. If Sydney is high on your holiday list, then book a trip during this cultural fiesta, and go home with unforgettable memories. The streets are set to come alive so here are a few reasons why you should book your tickets now!

    Vivid Cruise Sydney Harbour

The iconic Sydney Harbour becomes the centre of attraction every year by setting the stage for one of the main attractions of the festival, the Lighting of the Sails of the Opera House. Tens of thousands of people flock to the harbour to catch a glimpse of this mesmerising spectacle and the ideal way for you to witness this and many other attractions that centre around the harbour is to book a Vivid Cruise. Embark on this spectacular harbour cruise and get front-row seats to a slew of harbour vistas including the illuminated Harbour Bridge, Luna Park, glimpses of Circular Quay, Barangaroo, The Rocks and more! Cruise in style along the harbour waters and end your night with a freshly prepared dinner and drinks, which can be purchased from the fully licensed bar! Sounds like the perfect plan right?! Keep your eyes peeled for the best Vivid Cruise Deals as they tend to get buidy during the festival!

    Highlights from First Nation Artists

This year’s Vivid Sydney features over 25 events involving First Nations creatives. This gives you more than enough ways to engage with the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders and their cultures. This can be first seen in the First Light before the festival goes up and running, with a wide range of ceremonies and lights celebrating the First Nation’s culture. The mesmerising artwork of NURA, is a masterpiece featuring over 150 colour changing panels that are modern representations of Arborglyph, the carvings on the bark of a tree. The Aborginal culture is profound in Vivid Ideas as well with numerous talks and workshops raising concern on how the First Nations way of thinking can be beneficial to the entire nation and how their history is often misrepresented in many parts of the country.

    Longest Light Walk Ever

With the longest Light Walk ever, Vivid Sydney 2022 might just be the biggest of its kind since its inception back in 2009. Take your time to wander through the walking trails of Light Walk which stretches over 8 kms, starting from the Opera House through Circular Quay and all the way up to The Good Lines Tunnel and Central Station. The Light Walk is a great way for you to watch all the light installations that appear at each turn. You can follow the Future Native installations which serves as a guide throughout your walk, featuring over 200 LED sculptural birds of varied origins.

    Vivid Sydney Supper Club

Take your Vivid Sydney Experience to the next level by heading underground for the ultimate late night party. Snuggle into Mary’s Underground, an intimate jazz restaurant and spend the evening watching performances from artists such as Mahalia Barnes, Emma Pask, Bob Downe, Tim Freedman and more! Your ultimate diva host Trevor Ashley will set the tone of the evening by curating a number of cabaret, jazz, comedy acts and more which will last until wee hours! Who knows, maybe even a surprise act will pop up in the middle of the night!
